About Me
Hello, my name is Rose! I live along the beautiful Russian River in Northern California and have spent my entire adult life here, surrounded by nature. I am a garden designer, artist, foodie, and nature lover, deeply inspired by flowers, plant lore, growing food, art, and ecology. Simply put—I love plants!
I studied horticulture at Santa Rosa Junior College, majoring in Garden Design and Landscape Management, with additional studies in Nursery Production. I graduated with the Dean’s Highest Honors, driven by a goal to become a garden designer while gaining as much hands-on experience in the field as possible. Some of my most influential instructors instilled in me the belief that the best designers have a deep understanding of both plant selection and maintenance practices.
I became a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL) and earned awards from the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) for Best Landscape Maintenance and Sustainable Management of a Commercial Site.
Holding a C-27 California Landscape Contractor’s License, I started my own small business specializing in garden consultation and design. My approach blends natural style with enhanced color and structured, low-maintenance plantings of trees and shrubs—sustainable, dynamic, and deeply inspired by nature. I believe that by observing and respecting the ecological details of a site, we can create gardens that are not only beautiful but also resilient, thriving for decades to come. This philosophy led to the creation of Nature’s Designs.
I am also a Certified Professional Member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), a national organization that recognizes excellence and competency in garden design. Designing gardens allows me to merge art and ecology, and I truly love what I do. My goal is to help people fall in love with plants as much as I have—by helping them discover selections that are both functional and bring lasting joy.
